After I was scammed, a "recovery agent" tried to scam me again.

A few weeks after I lost money to an investment scam, someone contacted me claiming to be from a fund-recovery agency. They knew details about what had happened and said they could get my money back — for an upfront fee. I wanted so badly to believe it that I almost paid. But real law enforcement and IC3 never charge a fee to recover funds, and they do not reach out promising results. It was a second scam, targeting me precisely because I was already a victim. If anyone contacts you promising to recover scammed money for an upfront fee, walk away — it is a follow-up scam. Report it to IC3.gov. Being targeted twice does not mean anything is wrong with you; it means the criminals share lists.
